ahhh, there is something to what you two are saying. Maybe not a nightmare but someone playing with Melinda's mind? That has happened before by a few ghosts. She finds herself drowning, bugs all over her, being murdered, etc. That would make quite a creative choice on the writers parts(and of course ladyplazz). They could milk that for however long they need to. The end of the season, she wakes of from a ghost induced coma! I like that. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

In my memory, only 2 other shows have used that "It was just a dream" plot. One of the shows was a hospital drama (the name escapes me...Isnt that always the way?) which starred Howie Mandel. In the last episode, we discovered that the whole series had been only in the mind of an autistic son of one of the doctors. We looked inside a snowglobe that he was playing with, and there was the hospital where the show was set. I thought that was cool, and not just cuz i have an autistic son.
The other show, "Dallas," was an evening soap opera where we discovered in the last episode that the whole series was just a dream of one of the characters. If i ihad watched that show regularly, i would have thrown my TV out the window.
I hope GW finds a more imaginative way to handle things. I just noticed that the episode to watch for is probably the Nov. 7th episode of GW.

St. Elsewhere?? don't forget kenmnife--- Bob Newhart's show, he woke up with his wife, Susanne Pleshett(sp?) however, he was on a new sitcom with a different wife at the time. I have to respectfully disagree. I think this is a chance to be very creative. We have watched 4 seasons filled with dead people controlling Melinda. What if Gabriel convinces her that she lost Jim? A new life of pain for Melinda but it could change for the better at any time. I think this could also quiet (eventually) some dissatisfied viewers.

Thanks, "June," for the St. Elsewhere series title. And, slap my ass and call me Charlie, how could i have forgotten Bob Newhart's awaking moment with Suzanne Pleshette. It was a classic of good writing. And, so i accept your prediction that a new writing direction could refreshen the Ghost of the Week plots that GW sometimes stoops to.
BTW, did u know that Tom Poston, who was also on the Bob Newhart series with Bob and Suzannne, was married 2 Ms. Pleshette, and, i believe, he died within the year before Ms. Pleshette died. (But i will admit, remembering which stars are alive and which R dead is quite a chore.)

I didn't know she was married to Tom Poston until she died and then read that she had been married to him. To me, he was a very unlikely candidate for a husband for her, because she was so classy and all, but I suppose, like me, personality won over looks. In some cases, I always went with the personality, if there was chemistry. Anyway, take care. Nooney

Yes Ward, I did now that Tom Poston did indeed marry Suzanne Pleshette, but I couldn't see that match up. He always played the dufus and she was hot!

my wife & i had just gotten into the pattern--fri nite--GW, The Ex-List and Numbers, when we discovered EX LIST was an ex-TV-show. Having watched 10/31 episode (but not 10/24) i dont think jim is going bye-bye. Maybe the TV producers see the fact that JLH is a movie-caliber actress and TV is lucky 2 have her....I know, dont say it, i am dreaming that someone in TV programming has a logical thought (other than the Almighty $)

"I will cry, too, especially since she "thinks" she might be pregnant. But I have a question. Who is Sam? Is he the new guy who took over Rick's spot? For some reason, Fridays have not been a good night for me. I'm either gone on some school function for my daughter, or the grandbaby screams through the whole show and can't hear what the heck is going on, so miss the show completely!!!!!!!! I do know there is some new guy, which from what I've seen, don't care for him much. Like Rick much better. I suppose I should give him a chance, since I've only seen MAYBE 2 shows in their entirety since the new season started. But anyway, who's Sam?"
Sam will appear in Nov. 14's episode threshold the actor is Kevin Mitchell who appeared as one of the brothers in Jericho obviously opposite of Skeet Ulrich. If anybody knows anything else please let me know...

From the looks of the teaser for Friday it looks like he's sunk. It really is a shame with the baby plotline and all. Do you find this valuable?

Hokay... do we call you Charlie or Kenmnife...LOL! I didn't know Poston was dead? I did know that he was married to Suzanne at one time. I thought I saw him on t.v. recently... hmmm maybe I was just dreaming it all up...LOL!

I know what you mean... sometimes...it just doesn't make sense to kill off a leading character... unless of course the actor wants to leave.. or has been fired. CSI started this whole thing of wiping out main characters and it appears to have caught on... you watch your fav show now not only for the sl... but to see if any one is still on it!

weird how they can't get a show to stay in that 9:00 slot eh? Last year it was Moonlighting or whatever....now Ex-List.... When I watched the NCIS repeat in that slot last week I thought....hmmmm this might actually work here....
