"I think whenever a show "kills off" one of its regular, core cast members, they should make sure to tell the press whether it was due to (a) contract dispute $$$$$$, or
(b) actor wants to pursue other ventures, not just the episodic TV series or (c) it's just to be shocking, after all, GW is a supernatural show.
"
Yeah, you are right, Ken, they usually do tell something in the gossip pages about money disputes, etc., however, I remember when Sharona on "Monk" just disappeared and the "Monk" people are so tight lipped about why she left, no one knows to this day. On the Monk blog, there was a hint of perhaps the actress wanted more money, but its the darndest thing. There was absolutely nothing about why she left the show, gosspip or otherwise. Its like she just disppeared off the face of the earth. I haven't seen or heard from her since. I don't think it will be Jim who dies, but, alas, I've been wrong many, many times before. I just don't think they could possibly kill off his character. I'm thinking its someone else.

Yeah, Nooney, my shoulda-woulda statement about characters who disappear is a description of my dreamworld, not the one we live on. I agree with what u said about Monk's missing co-star, who played Sharona. If she shows up in front of my eyes, i will let u know. I liked her. I like the woman who replaced her. They can replace anyone but Adrian's actor Tony, and i will still watch the show. As far as GW goes, as long as they dont replace JLH, i will watch the show. If they turn it into a cartoon, however, even if she does the voice, i wont watch. As JLH herself once said, "Some people watch the show for eye candy, usually male viewers. So i try to keep them happy." Bottom line, she keeps me happy. (If u wanna discuss this with more specifics, see my profile page) have a great weekend. ken

I agree with you grah3 that the GW marriage is a happy one that we don't get to see too often on tv these days.
I guess its too late because what is done is done but it just won't be the same I think if they kill off Jim - a little too much main character assasinating I think !
I love GW because its just a darn good show to watch but it makes me happy - I cannot miss an episode because of that - it delivers a funky young married couple who are actually into each other alot and I love that !!
Someone tell me of a show on tv that has its main characters married with no kids and are young and pretty cool like Mel and Jim ???

Perhaps do i dare say it that GW is in its final year and that maybe why they are killing off Jim and Mel will be left pregnant and widowed and then Professor Payne will return for the final ever show to rescue her ???

hi i do hope it when it does end that Payne doesn't come back to rescue Mel. i do like Payne but as a friend only nothing more. if it ends , and Jim is dead then Mel should be at his graveside with their baby saying goodbye, now that would be a " tearjerker"

Welcome to the group, grah3. I joined several months ago, and I find it a great place to converse with people. Its nice to hear from England. I had to miss the season opener due to a school function, darn, but I guess I'll catch the rerun. It is a great show. I would hate for them to mess with a winning formula, but I guess we shall see, eh? Well, welcome to the group. Ta ta. Nooney

I too missed the season opener but was able to watch it last night. I watched in on a website called ch131.com. The sound is a little off but at least you will be able to see it. I hope this helps you so you dont have to wait for the rerun cause it is really good.

I am glad they gave u (and me) a place to watch episodes we missed. I often find myself out with my wife and we both ask, "Are u sure the DVR was set up to tape the shows we might miss tonight?" Sometimes it's ok and sometimes it isnt. And, as u said to Grah3, it IS more interesting when we have a wider mix of people who all love GW, as we do. It's nice to get both sides of the ocean, as well as both sides of certain issues, too. As far as i know nobody has sounded off about Eli, so i might as well start--I can see that they hired a comedian to kind of fill the shoes of Jay Mohr (Payne). Jaime Kennedy is talented in lots of different ways. As for tearjerkers, the confession that Mel and Payne will probably never B more than friends was pretty beautiful, espec. since life turns out that way sometimes. It goes back 2 that old debate--can men and women be just friends? Platonic relationships? Any opinions, GW-lovers, out there? And, yes we want 2 keep this centering back to the show as well as real life.

"I would cry, litterally cry if they were to kill Jim off!!!!! CRY!! I have been reading many different forums and looking around and I have read many different things:

1. Jim is going to die
2. Jim is going to die then come back to life
3. Jim is simply in a coma
4. Jim dies and stays earthbound as a ghost
5. Jim will not die

As you can see there are so many rumors flying around the internet that I dont know what to believe any more. Right now I am simply waiting for episode 7 (the episode that something is rumored to happen to jim) and see what happens. I will say this though I am really worried about what is going to happen!"
thanks 4 sharing all the theories. Also keep the countdown going so i will know when episode 7 hits. Right now, it's number one or 2 of the new season?

"I am with you - this would be horrible! Jim can't die, Melinda needs him to keep her anchored. I hope Professor Payne isn't dead but only on sabatical (he is so fun) i can't picture the show without his signature cynacisim, if only in short encounters.
I wonder if the Mom is going to be more helpful next season and less distant it would certinly help Jim and Melinda to have a baby."

Thank you, Penthius, for posting the ghostwhisperer.me/blog because I FINALLY got to view the only episode that I missed last season beause my DVD recorder failed me, meaning the Christmas Spirit episode. Since you can't see past episodes on the CBS site and they didn't rerun that episode this is the only way I could see this. Thank you so much. cashsorter 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Actually this is re: ghostwhisperer.me/blog which I was so hapy that you posted the other day because I finally got to see the one episode I misses from last season. Went back to your original posting of it today, copied and pasted it into my browser because I wanted to watch some reruns. Al that came up this time was a picture of a girl with a hood half covering her face, the word Ghostwhisperer and a picture of a graveyard in the back ground. The rest of it wasn't there. Now what do I do? Do you find this valuable?
