| Ejipn Columbia, MDJ | A couple of years ago I was making an early morning trip alone (about 4 a.m.) back from New York City... and like four or five times I started to fall asleep at the wheel. I always tried to keep myself awake but this time I couldn't stop it. I was the only car on the New Jersey turnpike going about 60 to 70 mph heading towards a guard rail, when all of a sudden I heard someone yelling, "Wake up!" It was just like they were sitting in the car with me. When I woke up, suddenly the guard rail was less than four feet away. I always felt my deceased, maternal grandmother around me when I was going through some deep trials in my life. Was this her who woke me up or someone else like a spirit guide? And what is it that I'm supposed to be doing that was so important for someone from the other side to save my life? | |
| Dear Ejip, We all have a guardian angel and spirit guides around us. There is also a type of ghost that are called "road walkers" that are here to help truckers, bus drivers, and anybody that drives a lot. They warn drivers about road conditions, accidents, bridges being out, and try to keep the drivers awake and alert. This could be who saved you from hitting the guard rail. What are you supposed to be doing with your life? I do not know. But maybe you weren't supposed to kill someone else. Be careful! Mary Ann | ||

| Hi Madeline, No, it is not a curse and you are not cursed. Fear of Friday the 13th comes from a superstition called friggatriskaidekaphobia. People are afraid of the number 13 and Fridays falling on the 13th of the month. I love the number 13. I was married on a 13th. Our 13th wedding anniversary fell on a Friday the 13th. This year I am married 39 years. I think it is good luck. Happy 13th birthday! Mary Ann | ||
| Mike Royal Palm Beach, FL | Hi Mary Ann, My wife thinks sometimes that I am imagining things when I see shadows in front of me or standing behind me. One time I was on the computer and I opened the webcam and right behind me was the image of a person. I closed and opened the camera several times and the image was still there. After the fourth try, it went away. Also a few nights ago I was thinking bad things about someone who was my enemy and I heard a loud howling noise in my right ear. God bless. | |
| Hi Mike, Some of the things that you describe in your letter can be signs of an earthbound ghost in your house. Pictures of ghosts are not unusual, so seeing one on your webcam could happen. Earthbound ghost pictures are usually misty or foggy, and sometimes you can actually see a form. Ghosts that have crossed over usually show up in pictures as orbs, little colored circles or glittery spots. I have no idea about the howling noise in your right ear. I will have to do some research. | Vanessa Edmonton, Alberta Canada | Hi Mary Ann, Greetings and good day to you. I'm aware that you've probably come across some very odd questions about ghosts and spirits before. Well, brace yourself because here's another one: Is it possible for a restaurant-style coffee machine, brought from one of the province's largest and probably oldest hospitals, to carry a physic residue? I swear, ever since my dad brought that thing home with him, there's been this very weird thumping noise that occurs throughout our apartment. It varies in intensity and time of day and we can never localize it. We've had the cops over here and they can't localize the noise either. It's starting to get very hard on my mom's nerves and I swear I'm sensing a presence with that thing. Any thoughts? Do we have a ghost? We think we do and we call him Charlie. And based on recent events, I'm starting to wonder if Charlie came with the pot. Thanks for your time and patience. Vanessa | |
| Hello Vanessa, Yes, of course a ghost could have come home with the coffee machine. People who go to yard sales, tag sales, flea markets, garage sales, estate auctions and antique collectors, all have a chance of bringing an earthbound ghost home with the item that they purchased. Sometimes your great find is no bargain, especially if you bring home an unwanted guest. Eventually your new friend will let themselves be heard or seen. Let me give you some suggestions to try and stop someone coming home with you. Carry some sea salt in your vehicle. Every time you purchase or receive something used, before you put it in your vehicle, sprinkle a little sea salt on it. If someone is attached to the item, about 60 percent of the time, doing this with the sea salt will stop the ghost from following you home. Vanessa, my advice to you is to donate the coffee machine to Goodwill and let "Charlie" go too! Mary Ann | ||
| Vicky | Dear Mary Ann, I am writing to ask you if you can help me with something. Do you have any experience or knowledge of people who see flashes of pure bright indigo light? What might this mean? I don't believe that it's my eyes playing tricks on me because I acknowledge it like it's a message. But I don't know what it means. | Dear Vicky, I do not know a lot about indigo light, but I will share what I know. It is supposed to increase intuition and spiritual perception so that could be why you get a lot of déjà vu feelings. It would have a big affect on your third eye. I do not believe you actually get messages from the Indigo Light, but that it "lights up" your intuition so you can see better. Hope this helps a little. Mary Ann | ||
| Elle | Mary Ann, I'm sending this question to you because I don't know where else to direct it. This particular issue began when I was pregnant with my daughter. Before she was born, every time I looked at the clock it was six minutes after the hour. I would wake up from a dead sleep and it would be six minutes after. This happened more and more as the pregnancy progressed. My daughter was born on the sixth at six minutes after the hour. Then it stopped. She's now sixteen. Now, for the past few months it's happening again, except now it's either 2:22 or 3:33 or 4:44 or 5:55. When I filled up on gas, it automatically stopped at $22.22. When I bought groceries, it rang up to $44.44. I know this sounds insane, but it's all true. So far nothing bad has happened to me, so I don't feel scared. Could this be ghost related or should I look elsewhere for help? I can't find any information of this happening to others. Thank you. Elle | |
| Hi Elle, Oh, I believe you. I wish I could give you an answer because I could get my numbers questions answered too. You see 222 or 333, etc., like your letter says. I always see 12:34, 1:23, or 3:45, on clocks, or grocery bills come out to $67.89, all the numbers running in order. I know that mine is not ghost related so I am pretty sure yours are not either. I think we both have to talk to a numerologist to see what this means. Thanks for writing. Mary Ann |
