Sarah Savannah, GA		How do some ghosts come back to visit Melinda like her grandmother?
		Hi Sarah, All ghosts both earthbound and crossed-over can visit. Melinda helps the earthbound ghosts on Ghost Whisperer cross over into the white light. She is helping them resolve what ever issues they have, so that they can go. Melinda's grandmother just visits like other crossed-over ghosts from the white light. Mary Ann
Emily		My name is Emily and I'm 14 years old. I've been living beside a graveyard my whole life. A year ago, I thought I saw a ghost in the shape of a horse, but it disappeared quickly so I couldn't confirm what I had seen. If it was a real ghost that was a horse, I wouldn't be surprised, because I live just up the road from a horse barn. Then, a few weeks later, I thought I saw a figure standing at the edge of the forest and it looked a bit like a soldier. I wouldn't be surprised if it were because there are a lot of graves for soldiers that died in battle, of what war I don't know. One night I had two of my best friends sleep over at my house and when it got dark enough, we went up near the graveyard. One of them knows some things about ghosts and she read that when you take pictures with a digital camera in a graveyard at the right time of night, they appear as ghost orbs. We took a few pictures with her cell phone. The first one showed nothing. The second one showed two bright dots that appeared not to be far away. The third showed a faint dot. Were they really ghost orbs or were they just a light in the distance? Not long after that night, I saw a ghost in the shape of a young girl, or I thought I did anyway. Do you think that I really saw ghosts or is it a figment of my imagination? I also sometimes feel like I'm being watched even though no one's around. Do you know anything that could explain this?
		Hi Emily, Yes, you could have seen a ghost horse. I have, especially at race tracks. Yes, you could have seen a soldier. I have, especially at Gettysburg. Yes, you can get pictures of ghosts on a camera. Earthbound ones look like a fog or a mist. Ghosts from the light look like orbs. Some clear, some colored. None of this is a figment of your imagination. You could have ghosts in your house and sometimes that's one of the signs, that it feels like you are being watched when no one is around. I have lived next door or across the street from a cemetery in almost every house that I have ever lived in. Cemeteries are your best neighbors! Mary Ann
Lydia		Dear Mary Ann, Hello, my name is Lydia and my dad passed away almost two years ago. He passed away from cancer. He had all three major types and lived only 8 weeks after the diagnosis. Did he pass over? I hope so. He was a great man. He suffered before he left here and I just don't want him to suffer anymore. I love him and miss him greatly but know he is at least pain-free. I know he has been here with me at times, but I feel like since he came and said "Goodbye" to my youngest daughter Brianna, he is not here anymore.
		Hi Lydia, Usually cancer patients do not stay earthbound. They know that they are dying. Everyone around them knows that they are dying. It is a very mixed bag of emotions. You do not want him to die, but they are in such pain. I think your father was very tired. He was ready to cross over. He is not in pain anymore. He was in pain till he died. It does not hurt to die. I am sure he comes back and forth and visits. He is your dad and a grandpa. He will not miss any part of your life. Mary Ann
Jessica		I love your show because I have pretty much lived it all my life. My grandma knew I always had this scary gift and since she has passed away, she's upset about something. I smell a really bad smell, like Bengay, like someone putting Bengay right up my nose. I asked my NS about it. He said if it's not seizures then maybe it's a gift I do have. It shocked me because I always thought doctors were not supposed to believe in this stuff. They put me in the hospital when my dad died because I kept hearing his voice. They diagnosed me with all kinds of stuff. I'm not crazy. I've just had this problem all my life. I hate it a lot because it does scare me badly. Back to my grandma, if she's not upset about something, then she comes to me and I smell flowers. At first I thought maybe it was flowers or something in my house. But now I've even smelt it in the car while driving. Can you give me an idea of what's up with that? Thanks! I love your show. Please don't ever let it end. Also, I was wondering. 		Hi Jessica, Usually when you smell something that reminds you of someone, that person is visiting. It happens most with people who have crossed over. Good examples are perfume, flowers, pipe tobacco, or chicken soup. This is actually good. It is nice when relatives that have crossed over come to visit. Bad smells rotten eggs, smoke, or sour milk are usually attached to earthbound ghosts. Hope this helps you with your question. Ghost Whisperer is filmed in California. Thanks for being a fan. Claire Honolulu, HI		I'm 58-years-old, but I have been afraid of dying all of my life. The thought that life just ends and we'll never see each other again is scary to me. When my father passed away eight years ago, I often talked to him saying if he could only show me a sign that he was alright, I wouldn't be scared. But I have never felt his presence. I was wondering why some people have visits from their departed loved ones while my dad hasn't given me a sign? I was always close to my father. When I hear stories about people having visits, I always think that it's all in their minds. Do people really go to "heaven" when they die and will we see each other again? I always wanted to see a medium. I watch John Edwards all the time on the television. We don't have any mediums in Hawaii. Thank you Claire
		Hi Claire, Gosh! We are about the same age, but I have never been afraid of dying! But -- I know there is more and that the spirit never dies. So yes, you will meet up with your dad and loved ones when your body dies. People that have had a near-death experience all say the same thing. They see people they know and love, that it is beautiful. Most do not want to come back, that is how wonderful it is. If you positively believe you will be able to dream and talk to your father in a dream, you will. It will happen. Mary Ann
Lorraine England		Hi Mary Ann, I lost my sister Lynn, who was only 27 on September 25th, to cancer and just before she died, I asked her to come and let me know she was okay and happy. I miss her so much and feel really upset that I haven't even dreamt of her. I try to see if I can feel her close and I can't. What am I doing wrong? Also, I lost my grandmother four weeks before Lynn in August and have only dreamt about her once and it was a really upsetting dream in which she said I was a terrible granddaughter to her. This isn't like my Nan as she was a very gentle person. What do you think it was all about? Thank you. Lorraine from England
		Dear Lorraine, I am sorry for your loss. A couple of things… First, anyone who goes through a long lingering illness, like cancer, usually does cross into the light. Lynn would have attended her funeral and then she would have gone into the light. Second, Lynn has only been gone a few months. Sometimes it can take six months to two years before you or someone will have a dream of her. You just have to be a little patient. You have to adjust to your life without her and she has to adjust to her new journey. I do not think you dreamt of your grandmother. I think you had a dream about your grandmother. There is a difference, especially since it was not your grandmother's personality. I think it would be comforting to know that your grandmother was there for Lynn. Mary Ann
