Episode Synopsis:
Who was the Ghost?:
Melinda discovers the secret of a girl who has been missing for 12 years.
  • 8 year old Gretchen Dennis
How Did S/He Die? What was their unfinished business?:
  • She had made a wish in their well that she wished her brother Clay would lose his arms and legs. Clay had cut off all of her dolls up in a fit of anger.
  • Clay had cut off all of her dolls up in a fit of anger. He found her wish for him to be cut up and pretended to make it come true.
  • Gretchen ran outside to the well and tried to take her written wish back and fell into the well and died. For years her family had no idea what had happened to her.
  • Gretchen blamed her brother for her death. When she learned he hadn't really been injured and was just being a teen, she forgave him and asked him to forgive himself.
  • Gretchen also gave Sam (aka Jim) a piece of his life back, leaving more questions unanswered for Sam and leaving the future uncertain for Melinda.
