Episode recap: Jim's friend, Matt Murphy, returns home from the Iraq War after having been injured during a firefight which killed his entire unit. The entire town wants to celebrate Matt's return with a party & to give him the Purple Heart for bravery in battle. Matt feels survivor's guilt & begins suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The father of one of Matt's men receives a videotape in his son's effects that may or may not show what actually happened during the firefight & threatens to use it to discredit Matt who has amnesia from the battle.



Who was the ghost?: Corporal Hector Sanchez



How did he/she die?: He died after stepping on an IED when Matt Murphy left to retrieve a Humvee.



The ghost's unfinished business: Matt gave him a letter & a ring to give to Matt's girlfriend in case Matt didn't make it. When Matt returns with amnesia, Hector has to prove to his own father that Matt didn't desert his men.
